Ruhi's POV:

A few days had passed since Ruhi joined the college—mid-year, the typical “new girl” situation.
The campus was beautiful, almost too perfect. She made a few friends quickly, and things seemed to fall into place. But the management? It was too strict
But her father loved it, he said it would make her more efficient but only Ruhi knew how exhausting it was to complete those assignments
But still slowly hi sahi she settled back into Jaipur again. But destiny obviously thought something else for her.
I entered my college to see that today felt completely different the girls were fixing their hair and makeup constantly and the proffesors were worked up.
“Aaj Monday hoke bhi sab itne khush aur hardworking kaise hai?” I asked my friend Ritika
(How is everyone so happy and hardworking even though it’s Monday?)
“Ohh acha, tumhe nahi pata naa? Aaj iss college ka owner aane wala hai, isiliye."
(Ohh, so you don’t know? The owner of this college is coming today, that’s why.)
“Ohh, that explains why the professors are so worked up, par yeh log itne excited kyun hai?” (...but why are these people so excited?)
“Voh kya hai naa, the owner is really hot. Isiliye toh sab uska attention paane ke liye itne efforts daal rahe hai." (Well, the owner is really hot. That’s why everyone is putting in so much effort to get his attention)
"By the way, owner kaun hai iss institute ka?"
(By the way, who’s the owner of this institute?)
“Avyaan Singh Rathore. I’m sure tumne uska naam suna hoga.” (I’m sure you must have heard his name)
“Yup, and that also explains why all of them are constantly fixing their hair and makeup.”
Well, staying in Jaipur for so many months, I did learn about the Rathores. They were the royal family of Jaipur.
“Anyways, I only have two lectures to attend today. I’ll complete them and leave for home,” I said, already heading towards the hall. Ritika nodded and followed along.
After two hours of Accounting and Business Studies, I was finally free to go. But while leaving, I was too busy scrolling through my phone and almost dashed into a middle-aged man.
He looked strangely familiar, like I had seen him somewhere before, but I couldn’t place where. Too tired to think much about it, I simply walked past him figuring he was someone's parent.
But just when I thought everything was finally going well, I was welcomed home by a house full of guests.
Well, I know ‘अतिथि देवो भवः’ (The guest is equivalent to God), but today I already felt like collapsing, and I really didn’t have the energy to sit with the guests.
Before I could quietly escape to my room, my mother’s voice stopped me.
“Ruhi Idhar aao beta.” ( Ruhi Come here, dear.)
Suppressing a groan, I walked towards the living room only to find three unfamiliar faces sitting there.
There i found a women sitting gracefully in an emerald green saree sipping her tea.
I went in as usual and touched her feet for blessings.
"Sada sukhi raho beta”the women said in a calm and steady voice still mainting her posture (May you always stay happy and prosperous.)
Just then my mom stepped in introducing the women,"Ruhi meet my friend Meera."
I greeted her and she also met my eyes with a small smile on her face.
After this brief interaction I went up to my room unaware of the topic brewing downstairs.
Avyaan's Pov:

“Sir, the files for today’s campus visit are ready.”
I gave a small nod while scrolling through the reports on my laptop.
The visit wasn’t anything important. It was just a routine inspection of the institute—something the staff was informed about beforehand.
Just as I was about to leave, my phone buzzed on the desk.
Maa.
A faint sigh escaped my lips before I answered the call.
“Yes, Maa?”
“Avyaan, are you busy?” she asked calmly.
“I’m leaving for the campus.”
“Hm… then cancel it.”
I leaned back slightly at her words.
“And why exactly should I do that?”
“Because I need you to pick me up.”
I let out a small laugh. “You have three drivers at home.”
“Yes, but today I want my son to pick me up.”
There it was.
The emotional blackmail.
“When?”
“In half an hour.”
I glanced at the schedule in front of me before closing the file altogether.
“Fine. Send me the address.”
A satisfied hum escaped her. “Good boy.”
The call disconnected before I could say anything else.
Shaking my head slightly, I looked towards my assistant.
“Cancel today’s visit.”
“Sir?”
“We’ll continue it some other day.”
The man nodded quickly while I picked up my car keys and walked out of the office.I leaned back into my chair sighing knowing if maa wanted me there personally so something was definitely going on.
As I reached there my eyes instinctively swept across the property in front of me.
The mansion wasn’t extravagant in the loud, attention-seeking way most wealthy homes tried to be. Instead, it carried a quiet elegance to it.
Soft beige walls paired beautifully with the dark wooden accents, while the neatly maintained garden added a calmness to the entire place
The house itself felt… warm.
Large glass windows allowed the golden sunlight to spill inside, making the place look even more inviting. Nothing about it screamed luxury, yet every little detail reflected calmness.
It looked... peaceful.
As I walked inside, the soft sound of laughter echoed faintly through the living room, making him pause for a brief second before continuing further.
Inside I found my mother sitting with another women who was of her age.
"Avyaan meet my friend Nandini"my mother said as she noticed me entering.
"Namaste aunty"I said greeting her.
"Aao beta baitho kuch, peene ke liye loge?"[Come dear sit down, will you take something to drink?]
I refused her politely and reacjed out to my mother,"toh chale phir?"(So let's go then?)
My mother nodded instictively and got up. She bid het friend bye and turned towards me as we were leaving.
I was going by the car when i noticed my mother talking something with her friend still suspicious i sat down in my car and waited for maa.
After a few minutes maa came in looking usually happy,
"So baat kya hai?" I asked still curious.(What's the matter?)
"Nothing musch just decided to spend some time with my old friend.
"Never heard of her until today tho"i said.
"Arre nothing like that just had lost touch with her"
I hummed in response and drove to our house.
"Acha chalo mujhe jaana hai I'll come back later"
"Arre abhi aaye hi ho then have dinner and go naa"
I groaned ready to say no but maa didnt let me speak she forced me in and now i knew she wouldn't let me go back.
I then went to my room to take a cold shower to feel a little alive after working the whole day at the office.
I came out dressed in my casuals and came down when my brother came upto me.
"Aur bhai you visited the campus?"Aarav asked.
"Nope maa called me for some work so I had to cancel it"I said blankly.
"Ohhh,by the way I heard heard that people are buying their way in the college do check it out once."
I hummed in agreement when my sister came in running and unexpectedly happy.
"Bhaiii finally you're at home before 12!"she exclaimed hugging me.
Well my sister has always been my kid since childhood so she is very attached to me.
Just as my siblings were going to do anything further maa came in calling everyone for dinner.
